best way to clean dirty varnished wood
Some experts recommend vacuuming with a brush attachment, but regular cleaning with a dry, soft, lint-free cloth does the job better. cleaning with a soft cloth removes dust and smudges, and it also gives a soft shine to the wood surface. to remove stickiness or light soil wipe with a damp cloth. follow up by rubbing with a dry cloth immediately.. Rubbing strait along the grain of the wood & in gentle circles. work across the piece, re charging the wire wool pad with white spirit when appropriate. before the white spirit dries use a piece of absorbent paper or a soft cloth to wipe across the area just cleaned. this cloth should come away dirty as the muck etc is removed.. Use a mild dish soap. for minor cleaning, you should be able to use a bit of mild dish soap mixed with hot water. dip a nonabrasive sponge into the water and scrub the surface of your wood door. you can also use or a small brush (like a toothbrush) to get into corners and crevices in the door.. best way to clean dirty varnished wood
